Continuing Lecturer – Technology Leadership and Innovation (002737-2012)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Ten-month faculty position at the continuing lecturer level. Primary responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level, including online instruction, student recruitment, and curriculum development. The successful candidate must be able to teach in several of the following areas: human behavior in organizations, leadership for teams, leadership principles, conflict management, leading with integrity, quality and productivity, meeting management, lean manufacturing, industrial organization, statistical  quality, production cost analysis, production planning, supply chain management, ergonomics, Six Sigma, teaching on-campus, off-campus, using blackboard and other educational technologies to reach students at a distance is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business administration/management, finance or related discipline. Three years of applicable, documented U.S. based industrial experience is required and two years of successfully demonstrated teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Effective communication skills are necessary; as well as strong, positive teaching abilities. Experience with ABET accreditation and/or program assessment is desirable.

STARTING DATE: January 2013.  SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications.

The degree programs follow the same curriculum requirements as the programs on the West Lafayette Campus. Classes are taught by Purdue faculty or those approved by academic department heads. There is a low student-to-faculty ratio, with access to cutting-edge technology.
