Associate Dean for Distance Learning (002693-2012)

Purdue University Extended Campus (PEC) is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to serve as Associate Dean for Distance Learning, Providing offerings at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Purdue University is Indiana’s land grant University and one of the nation’s leading research universities with a West Lafayette campus enrollment of nearly 40, 000. The University has a diverse faculty and one of the largest international student enrollments in the nation. Purdue Extended Campus (PEC) has campus-wide responsibility for the planning, marketing, and delivery of online and distance learning programs, in partnership with the academic colleges and schools.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Dean of Purdue Extended Campus (PEC), the Associate Dean participates on the PEC leadership team, in strategy development and implementation efforts, and provides leadership for the development and maintenance of online credit and noncredit programs and courses. The Associate Dean for Distance Learning provides vision for, and collaborates with, various internal and external academic stakeholders in establishing and supporting plans and priorities for online, blended, and distance education programs; manages a University fund for course development and administration; oversees operations of the distance learning center, instructional design support, and other services supporting students and faculty.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in their field, and academic and/or professional record suitable for tenure as an associate or full professor, and demonstrated excellence in an academic online learning pedagogy and course/program development and support and have strong fiscal management skills.
