Assistant/Associate Professor Computer and Information Technology (002792-2012)

Position Description: The Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University, has a tenure track, ten-month faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level opening at its Columbus, Indiana, campus beginning in August 2013. This position could have primary responsibility for courses in the programming and networking area.

Qualifications: Candidates for this position should be able to teach a variety of courses including but not limited to C#, JAVA, Visual Basic, software development for mobile devices, systems administration including Windows and Unix environments while demonstrating an interest in traditional and distance learning. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate level, maintain an active scholarship agenda, develop curricular materials and laboratory experiences, and promote the Computer and Information Technology degree program through engagement locally and beyond.

Application: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in computer science, information technology or a related discipline and must have relevant, recent industrial experience. Prior teaching experience is desirable but not required. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.
