Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/Full Professor, Department of Mathematics (003088-2014)

The Mathematics Department at Purdue University invites applications for up to four possible appointments in mathematics to begin August 2015. Two or three of these appointments will be at the level of assistant professor, or possibly associate professor in the case of exceptional early career achievements. An appointment at the level of full professor is possible for exceptionally well-qualified applicants. Appointments will be made based on demonstrated research and teaching qualifications.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. (or its equivalent) in mathematics or a closely related field is required. Preference will be given to outstanding applicants in the areas of Analysis (including stochastic analysis/probability, harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, complex analysis, and symplectic/differential geometry), Algebra (including commutative algebra, algebraic topology, algebraic geometry, automorphic forms and number theory), and Computational and Applied Mathematics (including applied, numerical, and computational analysis, the modeling of physical/biological systems, and inverse problems).

Requirements: Conduct research in mathematics. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate mathematics courses to a diverse student body and supervise graduate students. Senior faculty will also mentor junior faculty and participate in the governance of the department, the College of Science, and the University by serving on faculty committees.
