Assistant Professor in Exercise Physiology 002926-2013

The Department of Health & Kinesiology at Purdue University seeks applicants for a tenure track position in the area of Exercise Physiology to begin fall 2014. A doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology or related field is required and post-doctoral experience preferred. An independent line of research with potential for attracting extramural funding is expected. Other responsibilities include teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, advising graduate students, and serving on departmental, college and/or university committees. There are ample opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations within the department, the College of Health and Human Sciences, and campus-wide emphasis areas (e.g. obesity, cancer, gerontology, children/adolescents, disease prevention, imaging, engineering). Professional collaborative opportunities and pilot funding also exist within the NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (www.indianactsi.org); the A.H. Ismail Center for Health, Exercise, and Nutrition (http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/hk/ismail/); Discovery Park (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/), the Cooperative Extension Programs of Health and Human Sciences (http://www.purdue.edu/hhs/extension/); and over 100 Centers at Purdue (http://dagon.admin.purdue.edu/cgi-bin/ci.cgi).

The Department of Health & Kinesiology is one of nine units in the College of Health & Human Sciences and is home to over 700 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students.
