Assistant Professor of English—Second Language Studies/ESL (002899-2013)
The Department of English at Purdue University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Second Language Studies/ESL with a specialization in digital technology.
Qualifications: We welcome applications from candidates with a broad background in second language studies/ESL who have expertise and demonstrated interest in using digital technology for both research (e.g., corpus studies) and instructional (e.g., computer-assisted language learning) purposes. Also desirable is interest in an area that enhances or complements our current strengths (second language acquisition, second language writing, testing, and world Englishes). Ph.D. in Second Language Studies/ESL or closely allied field is required.
Requirements: The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester; teaching assignments will include graduate course offerings in Second Language Studies/ESL as well as English support courses for international graduate and undergraduate students. All faculty members in English are expected to publish, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, serve on thesis and dissertation committees, mentor students, and contribute service to the department, college, university, and profession. Starting date for this position is August 18, 2014.
