Clinical Assistant Professor—Technology Leadership and Innovation (002886-2013)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Purdue College of Technology at South Bend is accepting applications for a ten-month faculty position at the clinical assistant professor level. Primary responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level, including online instruction, student recruitment, and curriculum development. The successful candidate must be able to teach in several of the following areas:  organizational behavior, human resources, leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, ethics, quality, lean principles, operation management, supply chain/logistics, ergonomics, Six Sigma, Teaching on-campus, off-campus, using Blackboard and other educational technologies to reach students at a distance is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business administration/management, finance or related discipline. Three years of applicable, documented industrial experience is required and two years of successfully demonstrated teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Effective communication skills are necessary; as well as strong, positive teaching abilities.

STARTING DATE: August 2014. SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE, SOUTH BEND STATEWIDE TECHNOLOGY: Purdue's College of Technology resides in 8 Indiana communities across the State and serves nearly 1,200 students. The degree programs follow the same curriculum requirements as the programs on the West Lafayette campus.  Classes are taught by Purdue faculty or those approved by academic department heads.  There is a low student-to-faculty ratio, with access to cutting-edge technology. Purdue College of Technology takes its teaching and engagement missions seriously. Student recruitment activities are critical to the South Bend location.
