Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor (002883-2013)
The Mathematics Department at Purdue University invites applications for up to four possible appointments in mathematics for August 2014. Two or three of these appointments will be at the level of assistant professor, or possibly associate professor in the case of exceptional early career achievements. The remaining appointments will be at the level of full professor. Appointments will be made based on demonstrated research and teaching qualifications. Ph.D. (or its equivalent) in mathematics or a closely related field is required. Preference will be given to outstanding applicants in the areas of geometry and its applications (including algebraic topology, algebraic geometry, simplectic/differential geometry, and connections with commutative algebra), analysis and its applications (including stochastic analysis/probability, partial differential equations, complex analysis, and further connections to applied mathematics), and number theory (including automorphic forms and representation theory).Duties: Conduct research in mathematics. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate mathematics courses and supervise graduate students. Senior faculty will also mentor junior faculty and participate in the governance of the department, the College of Science, and the University by serving on faculty committees.
