Assistant Professor in Gifted, Creative, and Talented Studies (002858-2013)

The Department of Educational Studies at Purdue University invites applications for an appointment to a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor of Gifted, Creative, and Talented Studies with additional specialization including but not limited to one of the following areas: STEM Education, Counseling, or Research Methods.

Qualifications: Required qualifications include demonstrated potential for scholarly excellence; a record of successful involvement in P-12 schools; demonstrated excellence in teaching; a strong commitment to research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and a Ph.D. in gifted education, educational psychology, or related field. Preferred qualifications include (a) a program of research that will attract extramural funding, (b) experience working with in-service and pre-service educators, (c) expertise in one or more of the following related areas: curriculum development; creativity and innovation; talent development in STEM areas; and/or affective needs or GCT youth, and (d) experience working with gifted youth or youth programs. Duties associated with this position include scholarship, teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service.
