Continuous Term Lecturer in Economics (002587-2012)
Responsibilities: The Economics Department at Purdue University invites applications for a Continuous Term Lecturer appointment in Economics beginning Fall 2012. Candidates are expected to teach primarily at the undergraduate level and should have demonstrated excellence in teaching. The standard teaching load for such an appointment is 24 semester credit hours per academic year, including some large lectures. However, the assignment will involve multiple sections of the same course, such that there should be no more than 2 or 3 distinct preparations per academic year. In addition, teaching assistants will be assigned when large lectures are involved.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field is required. Continuous term lecturers are hired for an initial period of two years, with no limit on the number of additional one-year contract extensions subject to performance and teaching demands.
