003656-2017 - Professional Flight Technology Assistant/Associate Professor

The Purdue Polytechnic Institute at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position beginning August 2017.  These faculty appointments are in the School of Aviation & Transportation Technology.

Description

(1) Develop and teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in professional flight technology and related areas.  (2) Conduct externally-funded applied research, collaborate with other academic units at Purdue and externally, and engage with government and industry.  (3) Serve on graduate committees. (4) Perform customary faculty assignments and student mentoring.  (5) Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and transformational education.  The ideal candidates should have a record of academic teaching, curriculum development, scholarly publications, and conference proceedings.  In addition, candidates must demonstrate plan for success with engagement, grant writing, and/or research with either government or industry.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in specific or related field, or earned doctorate required.  Applicants must possess an FAA commercial pilot certificate, and if selected must be eligible to obtain additional ratings if requested, including:  multi-engine, type ratings, certified flight instructor.
