Job Description

The Department of Nutrition Science seeks applicants for a tenure-track position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level) in the area of Cancer Prevention, which is one of the four signature areas in the department (https://www.purdue.edu/hhs/nutr). This is an academic year appointment and we are interested in candidates with a research focus that includes understanding the underlying mechanisms and relationships between nutrition and carcinogenesis using a combination of approaches such as biochemical, molecular, genetic, cellular, or animal models. The position includes responsibility in discovery, learning in both undergraduate and graduate education, and engagement.  Applicants must have a PhD and post-doctoral training, and are expected to have obtained or show strong potential to gain external research funding.  Opportunities for funding and research collaborations exist within the NCI-designated Purdue University Center for Cancer Research (www.cancerresearch.purdue.edu), NIH-supported Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (www.indianactsi.org/), Discovery Park (www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/), and over 100 other Centers at Purdue (http://www.purdue.edu/research/centers-institutes-cores/list.php). The chosen candidate will participate in graduate education as a member of the Interdepartmental Nutrition Program (INP, http://www.cfs.purdue.edu/gradnutrition/) and/or Purdue University Life Sciences (PULSe, http://www.purdue.edu/gradschool/pulse).
