003413-2015 - Professor of Drug Discovery 

Purdue University is seeking applications from scientists who have distinguished themselves with outstanding records of accomplishment in drug discovery for a Full Professor position.  Candidates should possess credentials which would be commensurate with those of a Distinguished Professor at a major research university. Candidates with experience or interest in moving their discoveries into clinical trials are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will actively participate in the Purdue University Center for Drug Discovery ( https://www.purdue.edu/research/pcdd/ ) and will have the opportunity to influence the future of drug discovery at Purdue.   Departments involved in this search include Basic Medical Sciences; Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Comparative Pathobiology; Industrial & Physical Pharmacy; Medicinal Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology; and Nutrition Science. Applicants are encouraged to indicate the primary and secondary departments with which they might wish to affiliate.  

Candidates must have an earned doctorate (e.g., Ph.D., D.Sc., DVM, MD) in a relevant scientific discipline and a demonstrated history of success related to drug discovery. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a strong extramurally-funded research program. She or he will also participate in teaching undergraduate, graduate and/or professional level students in laboratory and classroom settings, as appropriate for the position and strengths of the candidate.
