Assistant Professor of School Counseling (002650-2012)

Responsibilities: The Department of Educational Studies at Purdue University is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in its CACREP-accredited School Counseling program, beginning fall 2012. Responsibilities include scholarly productivity as evidenced by publications in high-quality peer-referred journals and the pursuit of extramural funding for research, teaching core counseling courses, supervision, and engagement with the community and the profession. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or engagement.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from an accredited program or otherwise meet CACREP core faculty eligibility requirements. They should demonstrate potential for scholarly productivity and extramural funding. Candidates should be committed to comprehensive developmental programming to support academic, career, emotional, and social development in diverse populations of children and adolescents and have knowledge of school counseling as a profession. Professional experience in P-12 schools is desirable.
