Habitat Management and Monitoring is the second of three interactive modules (along with Biodiversity Around the Great Lakes and Big River) developed by USEPA and Purdue University.

Program's 'Visitor Center' lobby. Objects in the lobby, such as signs to the Movie Room, the Habitat Tours and the Habitat Monitoring Case Studies demo or the ecoregions map can be clicked to take you to pages describing elelments of the Program. In the actual program, each of these can also be mouse-clicked to embark upon that phase of the program. And, Oh, yes, there's a popcorn machine for movie goers!
The object of these programs is to inform and instruct students and the public about the workings of natural ecosystems, focusing on the upper midwest and Great Lakes.

Developed for the high school level student, Habitat Managment and Monitoring is an enjoyable, instructive program for anyone interested in learning about the many ways habitats support the ecosystem, and the ways plants and animals play a role in in their habitats. Individuals will learn about the techniques used to monitor habitats and the organisms that occupy them, and the many ways they can make the study and management of habitat a career, or an enjoyable pastime as a volunteer.

While this tutorial emphasizes the upper midwest and Great Lakes, but presents universally applicable principles.
