Re: Partnership with Lockheed-Martin for Sandia Labs operating contract
Date: July 26, 2016
I am pleased to share with you the exciting announcement (linked below) that Purdue is the lead university in partnership with Lockheed-Martin in competing for the next management and operating contract for Sandia National Laboratories. Additional university partners are New Mexico Tech and New Mexico State University.
As the lead academic partner in this team agreement, Purdue has an enormous opportunity to expand and impact ongoing research, educational opportunities and entrepreneurial partnerships in the national public interest. Our mission as a land-grant university and that of Sandia Labs are uniquely matched and I am extremely excited about the possibilities that this contract could bring to our university, our partners, our nation and the world.
The news release linked below will appear in Purdue Today on Thursday (July 28).
I am pleased that we have reached this moment, am eager to leverage Purdue’s strengths and expertise for the future, and will be happy to discuss this agreement and its impact over the next months.
