Re: Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness (OIRAE)
As noted in Vice President for Physical Facilities Michael B. Cline's memo of February 27, 2015, the data collection and analysis functions of the former Office of Space Management and Academic Scheduling will be housed within OIRAE in the newly created Office of Institutional Effectiveness. It will focus on the data and analysis associated with effective use of our institutional resources.
I am very pleased to announce that Ben Wiles, formerly the assistant department head in the Department of Mathematics, has been selected as the Director for this new department. He will work closely with the new space planning and management department in Physical Facilities and with departments across campus to more thoroughly examine our use of institutional resources. Ken Eldridge and Jaylene Nichols from the former Space Management department will be joining the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, as will Steve Hare, Maggie Konich and Zach Yater. Hare will continue his work with the Digital Measures project, while Konich and Yater will focus on drivers of student success.
Additionally, Dr. Diane Beaudoin has been successfully serving as the Interim Director of Institutional Assessment as the office has been reorganized over the last year. We have begun our search for the permanent Director, and hope to have the position finalized in April.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you have about OIRAE or if you need additional information about this new department and its structure.
