SUBJECT: Center for Healthy Living mammography program
In 2014, Purdue’s mammography screening rate was 47.5 percent, down 8.4 percent from 2013. In an effort to increase screening rates, along with awareness, Purdue is partnering with the Center for Healthy Living and Indiana University Health Arnett to provide convenient access to preventive (non-diagnostic) mammogram screenings. We are offering the program through the Center for Healthy Living to reduce any barriers to obtaining a preventive mammography screening.
Benefits-eligible employees at the West Lafayette campus are eligible to register for mammography screenings, which will take place at Indiana University Health Arnett Medical Offices, located at 253 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette, during the following days and times:
Friday, October 2: 6 – 8 a.m.; 10 a.m. – noon; and 4 – 6 p.m.
Saturday, October 3: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Monday, October 5: 6 – 8 a.m.; 10 a.m. – noon; and 4 – 6 p.m.
Purdue will offer transportation and up to 90 minutes of paid time off for employees who wish to take advantage of the Friday and Monday sessions. The transportation will leave from the Center for Healthy Living and is designed to reduce any travel or parking barriers.
Employees will register for an appointment by calling the Center for Healthy Living at 49-45239. Those who register for the Friday or Monday sessions will receive a prompt to also register for transportation. Registration opens July 15 and closes August 28. All employees must be registered by August 28 to participate.
Additional information, including FAQs and a guide for supervisors, is available on the Center for Healthy Living’s website.
