Residence Halls and Graduate Houses

University residence halls and graduate houses strive to provide safe and secure environments for their residents and staff. The University encourages fraternities, sororities, and cooperative houses to work toward the same goal.

The residence halls and graduate houses offer education on safety and security matters to residents and staff through presentations by police and other safety and security personnel; by making available written materials that include the building access and security guidelines and daily dining room notices; and with safety-related programming on Boiler TV.

After-hours entrance to most residence halls and graduate houses is restricted to those who live and work in the building. Staff on duty late at night and early in the morning monitor entrances, and at least one police officer is normally on patrol in the area.
