Chillers

Chilled water is produced by two electric-driven and four steam turbine-driven centrifugal chillers. The current total maximum available cooling capacity is 33,900 tons.

Last summer the peak load-to-campus was 26,358 tons. The average home air conditioner is rated at approximately 2 tons of refrigeration.
