Utilities Engineering
Utilities engineering is a multi-disciplined organization of engineers, and technical specialists that support the stewardship of the University's utility generation, production and distribution systems.
We provide engineering and technical support for the Wade Utility Plant as well as the Utilities Operations and Distribution Organization to insure low cost, efficient delivery of utilities with a minimum number of interruptions.
Utilities Engineering also maintains relationships with and participates in the management of contracts with the following public utilities which serve the West Lafayette campus: Duke Energy, Vectren, Indiana American and the City of West Lafayette. We work in conjunction with the Office of the University Architect and associated consulting engineering firms to support designs and the routing of utilities to new, existing, and future buildings on the main campus as well as our farms.
Utilities Engineering also provides strategic planning information and recommendations to the University Administration to insure that appropriate investments will be made in the utilities infrastructure to meet the increasing utility demands of a growing, vibrant campus.
