Join us on our Fall Field Trip…Jan Weaver attended the fall IESTA professional development workshop on soils in November of last year at Cagle’s Mill in Lieber State Park. Dr. Greg Olyphant, from Indiana University was kind enough to allow us to attend his class as they cleared a 25 foot hillside to look at various soil horizons left during at least three glacial advances. We also had an opportunity to examine several sedimentary structures on the site, including some wonderful ripple marks! Jan took pictures of the site and the warm sunny day we enjoyed with the IU students.

IESTA has been invited to bring teachers along for this fall’s field trip too, so if you are interested, please contact Tina Harris (taharris79@yahoo.com). The date will be set early September and will be a Saturday November 15, 2008.
