Rain in Cumulus overt the Ocean - RICO

RICO, or Rain in Cumulus over the Ocean, is a collaborative effort between multiple universities and organizations to better understand the Trade Wind Cumulus Cloud and entrainment of this convection over tropical areas. The goals of RICO are specifically centered on gathering data from a multi faceted perspective. Before now, trade wind cumulus and its affect on the surrounding environment has been studied on either a micro physical, meso physical, or macro physical level, but never a combination of the three. RICO divides each of these perspectives into areas that will be studied simultaneously. This December, Dr. Sonia Lasher-Trapp will be traveling to the islands of Antigua and Baruba to help get the study started. The following month, Colleen Henry and Sarah Bereznicki will also be traveling to the site to aid in the graduate student aspect of the study.
