General Degree Requirements 2005 and Prior
Requirements for Entry into the Upper Division in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
A student pursuing a major in Earth and Atmospheric Science must satisfy the following before being permitted to enter the upper division:

Completion of MA 161, MA 162, CHM 115, CHM 116, and PHYS 152 or equivalents with a GPA of 2.00 or better (if you were a major prior to Fall 2003). For students starting Fall 2003, or after, you must complete MA 161, MA 162, CHM 115, CHM 116, and PHYS 152 or equivalents each with a grade of C or better.

Completion of required lower division courses in the student's major area each with a grade of C or better.
For the application of these requirements, entry into the upper division is defined as registration for the semester which includes EAS 351 (for solid earth programs) or EAS 421 (for atmospheric science) in the course selection.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate in any of the earth and atmospheric science majors, a student must have an average grade point index of 2.00 or above in earth and atmospheric science courses required for the major. This requirement applies to students who enrolled in their EAS major after the Fall Semester of 2001.
Solid Earth Science Majors Please Note: Your electives (EAS, Science/Engineering/Agriculture, and General Education) and your EAS major courses (including the summer geology field camp) must add up to 32 hours of courses numbered 300 and above to meet University graduation requirements.
