The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences has a variety of competitive funding sources available for our graduate students.
Teaching assistantships available to students who enjoy the challenge of teaching and can communicate effectively with students
Research assistantships available to students who desire to work on a government or industry- sponsored project within our department
Research fellowships all students may apply, but recipients are selected by the department’s Graduate Committee based on previous academic performance and research experience; fellowships are awarded for 1-4 years depending on the specifics of the fellowship.Frederick N. Andrews: for recruitment of new students with ultimate objective of Ph.D.
George Washington Carver: student from historically black college or university, Hispanic-serving institution, or Tribal college who is pursuing a Ph.D. and aspires to a career as a professor in higher education
Dissertation Fellowships: Ph.D. candidates who have completed their coursework, passed their qualifying exam, and have an approved dissertation proposal are eligible
David M. Knox: for encouraging diversity through the recruitment of M.S.-seeking graduate students. Applicants must submit an essay on diversity.
Lynn: recruitment of new doctoral-seeking students into an interdisciplinary program
Purdue Doctoral: for encouraging diversity through the recruitment of Ph.D.-seeking graduate students. Applicants must submit an essay on diversity.
Nick Puskas: for new or continuing students with current Romanian citizenship
