Indiana Rural Forums

The Indiana Rural Forums is an exciting telecommunications project that focuses on the many challenges and issues faced by rural communities.  Sponsored by the Purdue Center for Regional Development, USDA-Rural Development, and Purdue Extension Service participants will include local community leaders, rural development resource organizations and other interested individuals.

Local leaders participating will:
  • Share their perspectives on pertinent rural challenges and issues facing their community.
  • Learn solution strategies that have been used by other Community leaders around the state.
  • Network with regional and state rural development organizations about available resources in communities.
Rural Development Organizations participating will:
  • Gain a deeper understanding of rural community issues by engaging the participants around issues they normally do not have an opportunity to consider.
  • Enhance communication, understanding and coordination of organizational resources.
