RISE 2020 Draft Report

Over 150 Hoosiers from all walks of life, and representing a broad diversity of institutions, organizations, governments and constituencies within our state, have worked diligently to create a dynamic vision for the future of rural Indiana — The Rural Strategy for Excellence: A 2020 Vision for the Indiana Countryside (RISE 2020). This same group of dedicated and committed volunteers has begun to build a platform to mobilize the constituencies and stakeholders needed to move from vision to action.

The development of RISE 2020 was a very dynamic and transparent process. Commitment from all sectors was phenomenal and final decisions were surprisingly almost all consensus based.

RISE 2020 is not yet a complete document; and rural Indiana is an important asset for all Hoosiers. Hence, the input of all Indiana residents—urban, suburban and rural—is not only welcomed, but is essential. Your input can be registered in several ways: by participating in community input sessions; by commenting through this website, or by writing directly to Lt. Governor Skillman.
