Cancer Research Clinical Partnership

Why

The Greater Lafayette area is unique in the development of partnerships between talented practicing clinicians treating cancer patients and world class cancer researchers focused on making a difference in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of cancer. In partnership with Horizon Oncology Center, the Oncological Sciences Center developed the Cancer Research Clinical Partnership in 2007 with a mission of linking Purdue University strengths in interdisciplinary cancer research with local clinical expertise to accelerate new ideas into clinical treatments for the prevention and treatment of cancer. This linkage drives technology toward an end application for the patient.

Topic driven workshops are held every other month during the academic year highlighting Purdue technology and clinical reaction. This interaction allows early guidance of research projects and critical partnerships as technology moves toward the clinic.

Since June 2007, the partnership has sponsored twelve workshops that each attracted 20 to 40 Purdue faculty and medical professionals. A clinician presents a case and faculty present promising technology at each workshop followed by an exchange of ideas.

How to Help

The Cancer Research Clinical Partnership (CRCP) Memorial Seed Grant Program was established to help fund joint research projects involving Purdue cancer researchers and local physicians to make an impact on cancer care locally. These research partnerships will serve to move new discoveries into the hands of physicians quicker, positively affecting cancer patients. The gifts received will support this important program.

We invite you to become a partner in the CRCP program between Purdue faculty and physicians treating cancer patients locally.
