Interns
for Indiana Company Information
Thank
you for your interest in the Interns for Indiana Program. The objectives of
Purdue’s program are to provide students with professional training and
experience working with Indiana start up companies, while providing employers
with talented professional personnel.
Recognizing the limited financial resources of many start-up companies, Purdue University will provide a portion of the stipends paid to student interns placed with companies through this program. Additional compensation will be required by participating companies and will be paid to Purdue to use in program administration and to fund the student interns. In addition, Purdue will support intern educational growth through a variety of classes, seminars, and other experiences. Companies receiving interns are responsible for providing challenging work assignments as well as appropriate training and supervision to assure intern success and growth. Additionally, participating companies are expected to provide student and program feedback, assessment, and evaluation.
For details on the program and to download a Company Application please click here. All participating IfI companies are required to submit a signed Memorandum of Understanding (click here to download MOU) with their official IfI application. This document outlines the program's cost to the company given a specific number of requested interns, and it is a binding commitment to pay Purdue for those interns if awarded through the IfI selection and matching process. If not matched with a student, the membership fee will not be required.
There are two versions of the Interns for Indiana program, the Summer Program (May-Aug, 400 hours) and the Academic Year Program (Aug-May, 250-300 hours). Each company and student must apply to each program separately and the maximum amount of time a match can be funded is one year (although funding is not guaranteed).
