GK-12 in China:
Five GK-12 fellows and five
GK-12 middle school teachers
will spend a week working on
science inquiry with the
Jiangsu Institute of Education
and a local K-12 school. Each
fellow will undertake
collaborative research in a
Chinese university for at
least 2 weeks. Check out

read a short
synopsis of the trip.

Middle school teachers conduct a two-day orientation, "Realities of Middle School," for the graduate fellows
All participants attend a one-week inquiry-learning workshop, GRAD 590K

Form four teams, each with two teachers and two fellows
Teams create and/or modify learning modules (each team will set their own schedules)
All teams attend intermediate progress update meetings
Academic Year
Graduate Fellows serve as "Visiting Scientists" in middle school classrooms
Learning modules are piloted in middle school classrooms
