Information for New and Incoming Students
We are pleased to welcome you into the ESE program! Below are a number of helpful links and information to make your move to Purdue, and the start of your graduate studies in ESE, go smoothly.

  • Roster of incoming ESE Students Fall 2009 (forthcoming)

    All New Students Should Read the Following Items in Detail:

    • First. Welcome Packet (PDF) - Use the checklist! Read through the entire packet, please. Pay attention to Item #12 concerning course registration, and follow those steps outlined.

    • Second. Make sure your Purdue Career Account is working, and that you can login to myPurdue. This is the portal through which you will register for courses online.

    • Third. Registering for courses (do this online with input from your advisor!)

    Important Dates at Purdue
    All University Calendars
    • August 24: Classes begin
    • August 25: The Welcome and Welcome Back for New and Current ESE Students and Faculty Gathering in Lilly Hall, room 2-425, at 4:30pm
    • August 28: Last day for late registration
    • August 31: Last day to add a course without a late fee
    • September 4: Last day to cancel a course assignment without it appearing on your record
    • September 7: Official University Hoiday - No Classes (Labor Day)
    • September 21: Last day to cancel a course assignment without a grade, for course additions, change of level, or change of pass/not-pass option
    • October 5: Last day for grade correction for fall semester 2008-2009
    • October 12-13: October Break
    • October 28: Last day a course assignent may be cancelled (with passing or failing grade)
    • November 14: Deadline for pending incomplete grades to become failing grades
    • November 25-28: Thanksgiving Vacation - No Classes
    • December 12: Classes End
    • December 14-19: Final Exams
    • December 20: Commencement
