BARBARA ALMANZA
Dr. Barbara Almanza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restaurant,
Hotel, Institutional, and Tourism Management (RHIT) at Purdue University. While
at Purdue, Dr. Almanza has taught numerous courses including foodservice sanitation,
purchasing, equipment, contact foodservice management and advances in foodservice
research. Her research interests include waste management and sanitation, and
nutrition labeling in foodservices. Dr. Almanza has working on projects for the
Indiana Department of Education, Consolidated Products (Steak 'n Shake), ARAMARK
Foodservices, the Indiana Department of Housing and Community Services, and the
Indiana Department of Commerce.
Dr. Almanza received the 1996 U.S.D.A. Group Honor Award for Excellence for
a project titled "Safe Food for the Hungry", Pi Gamma Theta Professor of the
year at Purdue University, and Outstanding Young Women of America Award. She
is also certified as a sanitation instructor with the National Restaurant Association
and is a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association. Dr. Almanza
has more than 50 publications and currently serves on the editorial review board
for the Journal of College and University Foodservice and the Journal of Restaurant
and Foodservice Marketing.

CARL BRAUNLICH
Dr. Carl Braunlich is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional, and Tourism Management (RHIT) at Purdue University. Dr. Braunlich received his B.S. and M.S. from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and his D.B.A. from the United States International University. Carl taught at Cornell University, the University of West Indies, and the United States International University. He joined the RHIT faculty at Purdue University in 1991 as an assistant professor. His current research interests include social and economic impacts tourism development by legalized gambling, particularly the problems of compulsive gambling, the management service quality within the tourism organizations, and management career paths within the lodging industry. Dr. Braunlich also conducts numerous consulting activities.
Carl received the Charles B. Murphy Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching from Purdue University in 1996, the Mary L. Matthew Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching form Purdue's Consumer and Family Sciences School in 1995, and an Award of Excellence by the editor and advisory board members of International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management in 1995, etc.

RENEE GUNN
Renee is a senior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in Environmental
Engineering in Agricultural & Biological Engineering.
She plans on graduating in December 1998 and is continuing her education in graduate
school in Agricultural Engineering at Purdue. Her career
plans include owning her own consulting firm for environmental
analysis of systems. She is President of Alpha Epsilon, Agricultural
Engineering's Honor Society, a member of Purdue's chapter of ASAE
and Alpha Zeta, an agricultural fraternity.

DR. DON JONES
Dr. Don D. Jones is a Professor in Agricultural and Biological Engineering
Department at Purdue University. He received his Bachelor and Master from the University of Illinois and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. He joined the faculty at Purdue in 1976 as an assistant professor. His current research interests include computer applications (spreadsheets, multimedia) in agriculture, especially applied to agricultural production systems. He has helped develop expert systems in agricultural and been involved in a number of research projects dealing with animal waste treatment and management.

KEITH SULLIVAN
WEI WU
Wei Wu is a graduate student and graduate teaching & research assistant in the Department of Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional, and Tourism Management (RHIT) at Purdue University. Wei received his B.S. (RHIT major and Economics minor) with honors from the South Dakota State University (SDSU) in 1995. Currently, he is teaching RHIT 291, Quantity Food Productions and Services Lab course at Purdue University. His latest research fields include the Hotel Rating System, the Environmental Impacts and Strategies in the U.S. Lodging Industry, the Lodging, Restaurant and Tourism Index published by Purdue University. Before joining the South Dakota State, Wei was working for two major hotel corporations (Shanghai Jin Jiang and Heng Shan Groups) in China. His major areas were in the human resources and corporate executive offices as one of the president's administrative assistants.
Wei received the Young Hotel Administrator Award from Shanghai Heng Shan Group in1990, Dean's Lists for all semesters at the South Dakota State University. And also he is a member of China's National Hotel Administrator Association, the U.S. National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the U.S. National Honor Society of Phi Upsilon Omicron in Home Economics.
