Invitation & Overview

Purdue University’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing invites you to attend our seventh annual Advancing Manufacturing Summit. The summit is no-cost and open to the public and is designed to provide an invigorating public forum where you will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of events.

The estimated 400+ attendees will learn how industry, government, and academic leaders are using innovative products, processes, and people to aggressively address the challenges – and actively pursue opportunities – presented in today’s dynamic, global manufacturing environment. Summit events will provide opportunities to:
  • Hear prominent speakers share their expertise on:
    • The relationship between innovation and firm and economic well-being
    • The role of government policies and regulations on manufacturing innovation
    • The actions state, national, and international, governments are taking to create and provide manufacturers access to innovative resources
    • The roll-out of a new Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program designed to walk manufacturers through the process of innovation and identify the most promising opportunities
  • Meet and discuss innovative manufacturing research with tomorrow’s manufacturing leaders during the student poster competition

  • Participate in afternoon parallel sessions addressing specific innovative technologies and processes being used by leading manufacturers and learn about crosscutting academic research in areas such as:
    • P&L Improvements: hear manufacturing case studies from executives leading and sustaining high performance improvements in their companies.
    • Product Lifecycle Management: how lower-tiered suppliers can use these tools to harness their expertise and add value to their customers
    • Sustainable Manufacturing: how pursuing green initiatives can yield environment and financial benefits for the company and their community and open overseas markets.
    • Defense Innovation: how companies can leverage their unique commercial expertise to enter the rewarding defense manufacturing sector
