Funded by the office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion, this event honors the achievements of the LGBTQ community's graduating class and commemorates the great strides made at Purdue toward improving the experiences of all LGBTQ members of our community. Graduates from all programs (including graduate students) are invited to participate. Participation is at no charge.
- OUTfest. Pride Lafayette, Inc., in conjunction with Purdue LGBTQ student organizations and other local community organizations, hosts OUTfest: Tippecanoe County Pride Celebration each August in downtown Lafayette. The purpose of OUTfest is to increase public awareness of the LGBTQ community, and to celebrate diversity among family, friends, and allies.
- National Coming Out Day. National Coming Out Day, an international event to raise awareness in the community about the lives of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people. Centered around National Coming Out Day observed on Oct. 11, the event marks the anniversary of the 1988 national march for gay and lesbian rights in Washington, DC. The event is aimed at making Purdue a more inclusive and welcoming campus community through information sharing to and about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. Coordinated by the LGBTQ Advisory Board, along with several student and community organizations, the event is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion.
LGBTQ Advisory Board
The LGBTQ Advisory Board, sponsored by the Office of the Provost and composed of students, faculty, staff, and community members, was created in Fall 2007 to identify specific needs of the LGBTQ community at Purdue. In 2008, the advisory board published a white paper that presented recommendations to President Cordova for the new five-year strategic plan for Purdue University.

Alumni
The LGBTQ Advisory Board encourages LGBTQ Purdue alumni to organize in support of campus LGBTQ initiatives. To this end, a member of the advisory board has created the Purdue Stonewall Alumni group on Facebook. The group connects alumni with one another and provides a portal for accessing information about campus LGBTQ initiatives. The information on the following page is not maintained by Purdue University but is provided here as a resource.
