Mind, Body and Soul
An African-American Women's Affinity Group

A co-curricular initiative designed for African-American female students that promotes Academic Excellence, Identity Development, Leadership Development and Civic Engagement.


We strive to establish a system of institutionalized support for African-American female students that provides comprehensive academic and personal support, role modeling and mentoring.


To provide a holistic collegiate experience by creating a community of support for African-American females at Purdue University and connects them to resources that focuses on the attainment of academic and personal success.

Program Goals

  • Provide academic resources and tools that enable the successful navigation of Purdue’s rigorous academic climate.
  • Provide opportunities for self-reflection and identity development which fosters a better understanding of their agency.
  • Increase the visibility of African-American female students on campus by enhancing their potential for leadership opportunities through providing leadership training/coaching as well as ensuring knowledge of leadership opportunities.
  • Foster an understanding of the importance of civic engagement by the creation of and investment in campus and community partnerships.
  • Facilitate meaningful connections with peers, faculty, staff and Purdue alumni.

  • Opening Retreat to be held the week after Boiler Gold Rush
