In 2011, Purdue’s participation included the Youth Empowerment Summit Friday, themed "A Call to Action." The three-day event, from July 15 to July 17, was designed to expose young adults to key life skill training. As part of the Friday event, Purdue host an "Explore Purdue" program. The two-hour interactive experience with representatives from several colleges and departments was designed to increase awareness about academic programs and related initiatives at Purdue.
Purdue also sponsored an exhibition booth where visitors learned more about the university's academic and multicultural programs for prospective students. The booth's theme was "What we make moves the world forward."
