An evening with the Red Tails

Epitomizing his motto of “Do while you can,” Tuskegee Airman Colonel McGee’s appearance at the Division of Diversity and Inclusion’s Celebration Dinner on October 12th was in collaboration with Purdue University and the College of Technology’s sponsorship of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Red Tail Squadron "Rise Above" program, a traveling exhibit that shares the inspiring legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.

The exhibit houses a 30 seat temperature controlled movie theater with a 180 degree screen. Every 25 minutes, it runs a 15-minute movie that highlights this brave group of individuals. In conjunction with the exhibit, the CAF Red Tail Squadron will bring a reconditioned, rare P-51C Mustang fighter aircraft used in World War II by the Tuskegee Airmen. Elementary and high school students from across Indiana who visited the exhibit had an opportunity to meet Colonel McGee, engaging with a 'piece of living history."
