Indiana Water Forum 2015

November 12 @ 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM - Beck Agricultural Center, Purdue University

The Indiana Water Forum: November 12, 2015

The sustainability of Indiana’s water supply is of paramount importance.  In order to inform the discussion on water and water resources we have assembled an outstanding program around the theme "Managing Indiana's water, a discussion."  We will start the day with comments from State Senator Ed Charbonneau follow by a keynote address from Dr. Deborah Swackhamer from the University of Minnesota entitled "Water Sustainability - Can We Get There?"  Dr. Swackhamer brings an extensive background in water research as related to water supply sustainability.

The program that follows includes talks from the water industry, the utilities supply forecasting community, a lunch time presentation from Dr. Otto Doering focusing on the "Critical issues" that need to be addressed.   The afternoon presentations focus on the agricultural and water and will touch on regulations and how the agricultural community has responded.   The final talks cover Indiana’s irrigation situation with a closing talk on planning for a water emergency.   The complete agenda is available at the registration site (WATER FORUM REGISTRATION) and is listed below in this email.  For those (students and others) wanting to present current work, we are also accepting up to 20 posters submissions (see registration website.)

The forum is free, registration is limited to 250 and we will serve lunch.   The event takes place November 12, 2015 at The Beck Agricultural Center, Purdue University 4540 U.S. 52 West, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
