Interactive Visual Analytics Foundations integrates scientific expertise in cognitive science like human perception with complementary scientific expertise in visual analytics, information visualization, geographic information science, statistics, database systems, semantic web, information retrieval, and computational science. This research pillar uses an interdisciplinary approach which is essential to make the fundamental science, technology, and applications advances required to meet DHS needs.
