Guizhen Wang and Jiawei Zhang will be presenting at IEEE Visualization Conference

September 1, 2017

Guizhen Wang and Jiawei Zhang, VACCINE research assistants, will be presenting at IEEE Visualization Conference, which will be held on Oct 1-6, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Guizhen Wang will be presenting two works. One work she will present at the Workshop on Visualization in Practice 2017, “Spatiotemporal Driven Analysis of Law Enforcement Data”, shares VACCINE’s experience and insights to collaborate with law enforcement agencies to develop the criminal data analysis system, VALET. The other work she will present at the Workshop on Data System for Interactive Analysis, “A Client-based Visual Analytics Framework for Large Spatiotemporal Data under Architectural Constraints”, proposes a novel solution to reduce the demand of computational resources for interactive exploration of large spatiotemporal data.

Jiawei Zhang will present a poster "SMART: Social Media Analytics and Reporting Toolkit" at the IEEE VIS Workshop on Visualization in Practice (2017). The poster presents how the SMART system enables our law enforcement partners to utilize social media for situational awareness and emergency management.
