Amy Millman has established a successful career as an advocate working for and with business and government officials to develop and implement national business development and policy initiatives. In 2001, she co-founded a non-profit venture, Springboard Enterprises, whose mission is to facilitate women entrepreneurs' access to the equity markets. The organization offers educational programs and forums designed to provide women entrepreneurs with access to investors and information about sources and uses of equity capital. Springboard has showcased over 380 women-led emerging growth businesses at its Forums nationally and those businesses have raised over $4 billion in equity, grants and strategic investments.

On October 28, 2008 Purdue Trustee Susan Butler will speak to students enrolled in Purdue's newly developed Women and Leadership class about her recently published book Becoming the CEO of You. This class was developed by an interdisciplinary committee interested in women and leadership as part of the Entrepreneurial Certificate Program under the direction of Dr. Nathalie Duval-Couetil, Associate Director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship. This semester the course is taught by Rebecca Dohrman, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication.
