Healthy Workforce

The Healthy Workforce program was developed in response to a WIRED grant (Workforce Innovation for Regional Economic Development) given by the U.S. Department of Labor.  Through this grant, the WIRED for a Healthy Workforce program was developed using the best practices demonstrated throughout the wellness field to generate the best outcomes.  The goals for this program include:

  • Improve employee health and well-being
  • Reduce, or at least maintain, healthcare costs
  • Increase employee morale
  • Reduce absenteeism
  • Reduce presenteeism and increase productivity

The Healthy Workforce program strives to build on the Healthcare Technical Assistance Program's mission of improving healthcare quality, safety and efficiency by targeting employers to provide wellness-oriented interventions at the employee level to improve overall health and well-being while reducing unnecessary utilization of the healthcare system.
