Purdue's Healthcare Technical Assistance Program partners with Indiana healthcare providers in short-term projects that achieve its mission to improve healthcare quality, safety and efficiency. HealthcareTAP accomplishes this mission by applying the principles of engineering, management and science.
HealthcareTAP is a partnership between Indiana Hospital Association (IHA), Purdue Technical Assistance Program, Purdue's Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, and is a corporate partner with Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers, Inc.
Navigating patients through the "system" is a huge challenge for many hospitals, from initial registration and scheduling, through the patient care process, to discharge.
We will work with your staff to define the "current state" and identify potential barriers. Utilizing engineering principles, such as time and motion studies, flow mapping and simulation modeling, we can develop recommendations for a more efficient process.
Healthcare systems across the country have begun to adopt Lean process improvement principles which are already widely used in the manufacturing community.
We can help clinical and administrative management determine if Lean Healthcare is right for your organization. We also provide a suite of Lean training options.
Prevention of adverse events is a key issue for hospitals and ambulatory care settings.
We can help your team proactively identify potential areas of risk and develop opportunities for improvement before adverse events occur.
