A Partnership for Innovative Transportation Solutions
The mission of the NEXTRANS Center is to develop holistic solutions to transportation problems that entail a formal systems perspective, exploit technology, and encourage public-private partnerships and entrepreneurship. This holistic vision views mobility, safety, and infrastructure renewal as integrated components of a transportation problem. Solutions can be integrated across modes (auto, transit, freight, air, rail, and marine), sectors (public and private), and geography (within the Midwest and for the entire nation) by employing the formal systems perspective. The solutions will be innovative in that they seek to leverage technology, disparate data sources, limited resources, public-private partnerships, and novel financing strategies.
