Dr. Bertino appointed Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Elisa Bertino, Director of the Cyber Center has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Morgan & Claypool Series of Synthesis Lectures on Information Securiy, Privacy, and Trust.
The Synthesis Lectures Series on Information Security, Privacy, and Trust publishes 50- to 100-page publications on topics pertaining to all aspects of the theory and practice of Information Security, Privacy, and Trust. The scope largely follows the purview of premier computer security research journals such as ACM Transactions on Information and System Security, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing and Journal of Cryptology, and premier research conferences, such as ACM CCS, ACM SACMAT, ACM AsiaCCS, ACM CODASPY, IEEE Security and Privacy, IEEE Computer Security Foundations, ACSAC, ESORICS, Crypto, EuroCrypt and AsiaCrypt. In addition to the research topics typically covered in such journals and conferences, the series also solicits lectures on legal, policy, social, business, and economic issues addressed to a technical audience of scientists and engineers. Lectures on significant industry developments by leading practitioners are also solicited.

A group of Russian undergraduate students will spend a month of their summer at Purdue University and the Purdue Research Park to expand their knowledge of entrepreneurship and startup company development. Twelve students were selected by a committee of American and Russian specialists in economic policy and entrepreneurship to participate in the Yegor Gaidar Summer Leadership Program, which will run from Monday (July 14) through Aug. 2.Read Full Story

Three international conferences this month at Purdue University will focus on innovative concepts for air conditioning, refrigeration and high-performance buildings. More than 700 people are expected to attend the 15th International Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference, the 22nd International Compressor Engineering Conference and the third International High Performance Buildings Conference from July 14-17. The conferences are held every two years. Participants will present a record number of research papers - 410 - representing about a 10 percent increase over the previous record.Read Full Story
