Impact Statement & Explanation of Research:

Detailed numerical modeling is a powerful tool for understanding the mechanisms limiting the performance of solar cells, an important step in the enhancement of solar cell material quality and in the development of improved solar cell designs. The development of efficient and cost effective alternative energy sources will reduce dependence on non-renewable energy resources.
