Reservations:
1.  Select the equipment from the equipment tree on the left by clicking on it.

  • Highlight the time slot you would like to use.
  • Under the Reservation Actions menu, select “Make”
  • Choose the account and project you would like to use.

To cancel a reservation, select the reservation and chose “Delete” from the Reservation Actions menu.  Note:  Equipment you are qualified on will have an asterisk next to it.

Using Equipment & Billing:
Coral is now the billing method for all equipment in Birck!  Logsheets for process are still to be used.  *see notes below.
To initialize the system before use:

  1. Select the equipment you want to use.
  2. Under the Equipment Actions menu, select enable

This starts the equipment use and is equivalent to signing in on a billing sheet.

  1. Use the equipment.
  2. When you are finished with the equipment, select disable from the Equipment Actions menu.

Note:  For systems without a dedicated computer, (ie, the aligners or metal dep systems) you should enable the equipment on one of the common computers or Sunray stations.

Equipment Trouble Reporting
If you need to report an equipment problem to the staff:
Select the equipment in Coral.  Under the Equipment Actions menu, select the appropriate level of notification. ** see notes below

  1. Make comment:  This is for when you need to communicate with the staff about a  non-critical equipment issue.  (ie. Metal in crucible is running low)
  2. Report problem:  This will change the stoplight to yellow.  It is for equipment that is not performing at 100%, but is still usable. (ie. System takes an unusually long time to pump)
  3. Shutdown:  This will change the stoplight to RED.  It is for equipment that is not functional. (ie. The filament burned out.)

Notes:
*The temporary billing sheets are only for time when Coral is unavailable.
**Coral will automatically email the staff responsible for the equipment using this feature.  There is no need to send duplicate email.

If you have problems, email coral@ecn.purdue.edu
