With funding from the NSF and cooperation among the departments of Biology, Mathematics, Basic Medical Sciences, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, Purdue's program in quantitative physiology seeks to provide training and support for undergraduate and graduate students to apply mathematical and computational tools to understand the structure and function of biological systems at the physiological level.
This program provides NSF-STEM funded scholarships of up to $3,500 and a unique, supportive, training community for academically talented undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need and an interest in learning to approach important biological problems in multiple ways. The goal of this program is to foster interdisciplinary training and research leading to a degree in a field with exciting career prospects. Research opportunities will be available to all interested students in the program.
The deadline for receipt of applications is February 15, 2009 or until all spots are filled.
Go to our website http://quantphys.math.purdue.edu/ to download an application and find out more about the program.
The mission of the DLRC is to advance research that revolutionizes learning in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and math).
