October 1, 2012
Meet our visiting Professor, Dr. Edward Sazonov from the University of Alabama. Dr. Sazonov is a biomedical engineer who has been developing wearable devices for monitoring components of energy balance. This Fall, Dr. Sazonov will bring his device called a Wearable Ingestion and Activity Monitor (WIAM) to Purdue to facilitate and collaborate with our IBRC investigators on how we can incorporate the device into ingestive studies for accurate results.
Dr. Sazonov's device will be used in future pilot studies for ingestive behavior to assess eating frequency, activity, and sleep patterns.
Dr. Sazonov's first visit to IBRC and Nutrition Science will be August 13 - 15, 2012. He will return in Fall for a lecture and seminar.
Please check back for a schedule of events.
