Video available of Cordova's White House Meeting
Córdova was one of six university presidents invited to join Vice President Joe Biden to discuss key research taking place at universities as a result of funding from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy. "I am honored to have the opportunity to take part in this important dialogue," Córdova said. "This is further recognition of Purdue's growing national reputation in using federal research to jumpstart innovation that leads to new industries for Indiana. I look forward to sharing information about our innovative and exciting research and the impact it is making around the world."
Other university presidents taking part in the roundtable discussion were Amy Gutmann, University of Pennsylvania; Mark Yudof, University of California; Elson Floyd, Washington State University; Ron Daniels, Johns Hopkins University; and James Machen, University of Florida.
Also on the panel were John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Robert Berdahl, president of the Association of American Universities; and M. Peter McPherson, president of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities.
